Osceola County Historical Society hosts first Antiques & Appraisal Fair, May 18
Do you have treasures buried in your attic? Have you ever wondered how much that watch from your great-great-grandmother is worth?
Gather your family heirlooms and bring them to the Osceola County Historical Society’s first Antiques and Appraisal Fair on May 18 at the Pioneer Village. Appraisals will be conducted each hour from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event also will feature a market with vendors selling vintage or antique items. The Pioneer Village is located at 2491 Babb Road in Kissimmee.
“We are excited to offer this event for the first time and look forward to seeing all the unique items people bring to be appraised,” said Executive Director Kimberly Murray. “We invite visitors to also take time to shop with the vendors and to tour the Pioneer Village.”
Professional antiques dealers will be available to give verbal appraisals. These appraisals are meant to give a general idea of the worth of an item and are not intended for insurance or resale purposes.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Historical Society’s continued efforts to collect and preserve the county’s history and to provide educational and recreational activities that highlight the area’s cultural and natural heritage.
A staff member will be available at the appraisal fair to discuss possible donations of items to the Historical Society’s collection.
Reservations are required for appraisals. Appraisal tickets are $15 for one appraised item, $30 for two items, or $40 for three items. The ticket purchase includes admission for two to the Pioneer Village. General Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
For more information or to purchase tickets, please call Kimberly Murray at (407) 396-8644, ext. 8. Tickets are also available at the Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum, 4155 W. Vine Street in Kissimmee. Appraisal tickets must be purchased by May 10.
